Engagement
All aspects of the project were clinically led and designed by London’s clinicians. The project was also informed by a “user group” – patients and stroke survivors who had first hand experience of stroke services in the capital.
During 2008/09, a formal public consultation was held on the proposed reconfiguration of London’s stroke services.
One of the recommendations was that a pan-London clinical director for stroke be appointed. Dr Tony Rudd has been in this role since 2010.
