London CAMHS Network

The London CAMHS Network aimed to sustain and improve delivery of comprehensive CAMHS to all London children and young people. It began as a forum for CAMHS partnership chairs to exchange information, agree regional improvement priorities and support their implementation. In 2009, the membership was expanded to include local CAMHS commissioner and provider leads.

London TaMHS Network

The London TaMHS Network was established to facilitate communication and support between TaMHS projects in each of the 33 London boroughs.

The Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS) programme, jointly funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department for Education (DfE). Over a three year period, the programme aimed to transform the way that mental health support was delivered to children aged five to thirteen, improving their mental wellbeing and tackle their problems more quickly.

The two key elements to the programme were:

  • Integrated services – agencies working together to deliver flexible, responsive and effective early intervention services for children and their families
  • Evidence-informed practice – interventions planned according to local need and grounded in our increasing knowledge of what works

Each borough developed its own TaMHS project, designed specifically to meet local needs and priorities.
