Engagement
The local hospitals project was clinically led, and has support from the public and healthcare professionals.
Celia Ingham-Clark, medical director, at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust, and clinical lead local hospitals project said: “For the majority of Londoners who use a local hospital these changes may not be obvious to the naked eye. However, behind the scenes there will be significant changes to the efficiency and overall clinical quality of care offered.”
Ruth Carnall, Chief Executive at NHS London, the capital’s Strategic Health Authority, said: “Local hospitals can provide high-quality services by concentrating their efforts on the needs of the local population and what they do best. Currently there are inequalities across the capital around the quality and range of services offered in hospitals. Healthcare for London is working to ensure that local hospitals are a vital component of our 10-year plan to improve NHS services across London.”
