Strategic Managers’ Network
The London Disabled Children’s Services Strategic Managers Network was originally part of the Children and Families Programme. Following the programme’s closure, the network has continued, maintained and managed by a group of network members.
The network is open to managers in PCTs and local authorities who have responsibility for strategic development of disabled children’s services. There are currently just under 100 members of the network from almost all London PCTs and local authorities.
The network meets quarterly for briefings on current issues, to share best practice and to develop collaborative working. Recent meetings have focused on:
- NHS White Paper: Equity and Excellence
- Securing last change in disabled children’s services
- Developing an evidence base for the effectiveness of services
- The Big Society
- New models of service delivery
