Workshop materials

Commissioning skills workshop materials

A suite of five workshops were designed and delivered between September 2010 and March 2011 for commissioners across London. The workshops were designed to provide an introduction to skills needed across the commissioning cycle.

Evaluation showed that the workshops were highly effective at enabling delegates to establish a sound foundation of commissioning skills and support them in developing their commissioning capabilities thereafter.

Commercial skills development programme

A programme of four modules designed for assistant directors and senior managers that examined commercial strategies that can lead to commissioning success.

Between May 2009 and March 2011, 129 participants completed the six month programme, providing feedback that the course provided a broad insight into the commercial and market management skills that can be used in the NHS to the benefit of patients.
